Studio Art

Overview

The Art program (ARTAA) at MCC is designed for students with previous art experience as well as those who are just beginning to explore their artistic interests and careers in the arts.

Foundation level art classes introduce students to basic concepts of art and design, as well as provide quality studio time to develop and refine traditional and conceptual art skills. The program combines traditional media in the creation of two- and three-dimensional pieces including drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, ceramics and jewelry, as well as encouraging exploration of the computer as a contemporary art tool.

This program prepares students to enter a four-year Fine Arts program including the UNO College of Fine Arts, UNL School of Art, Art History and Design and other area four-year institutions.
