I.T. CAREER EXPERIENCES OVERVIEW

The Metropolitan Community College (MCC) Information Technology academic department strongly encourages all students to pursue early work experiences in their chosen IT area of study. Our goal is to bridge the education to employment gap by providing resources and consistent opportunities for MCC IT students to engage in events, networks, programs, and other career preparation opportunities. This Career Experiences page will be continually updated and contain information on occurrences such as: Job/Internship postings, career fairs, industry site visits, conferences, clubs/organizations, etc.

I.T. CAREER READINESS COURSE
 

The MCC Career Experiences team in partnership with the IT academic department have partnered to develop an IT Career Readiness Course (FREE to all qualifying current and recently graduated MCC I.T. students) to assist students in their internship and early career identification efforts. This 4-to-6-week, self-paced program was developed to increase the hiring potential for all IT job seeking students. Students choosing to enroll in this program will receive one-on-one coaching on resumes, cover letters and interview preparation skills just to name a few.

 

CHECK YOUR READINESS FOR ENROLLMENT
MCC IT STUDENTS WHO MEET THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA MAY BE ELIGIBLE TO ENROLL IN OUR FREE IT CAREER READINESS COURSE.

  1. Completion of all minimum course requirements CHECK YOUR READINESS for your chosen area of IT study.
  2. Possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.

All students that successfully complete this course will receive a digital badge in career readiness that signifies to our employer partners you have satisfactorily demonstrated basic IT career readiness skills.
