​Welcome to MCC Veterans and Military Resource Center (VMRC)
The VMRC should be the first stop for new and returning student Veterans. All VMRC services and resources are available for Veterans, active duty, Guard and Reserves and their family members. The center serves as a liaison with other school functions and teams with VA, DoD, State and community resources to help ensure your success at MCC and in meeting life and career goals.
The VMRC is located at MCC's South Omaha Campus, Center for Advanced Manufacturing (CAM) Bldg, Room 101. It is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Note: The VMRC will be closed on Friday, April 28, 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.and on Monday, May 1.

EVENTS -- listed events hosted in VMRC
- Department of Labor Veterans Employment Services Briefing. Thursday, April 20, 2023, 1:00 to 2:00 pm. Klinton Holscher with the Federal Department of Labor, will provide a briefing on the various services and resources the DoL provides soon to separate military members, Veterans, and others with a military connection.
- Human Services Employment & Career Presentation. Thursday, Apr 27, 1:30 to 2:30 pm. Meet with various employers providing career and employment opportunities to students wanting to work in the community and human services fields.
- Guitars 4 Vets Presentation. Wednesday, May 3, 1:00 to 2:00 pm. Nearly one million Veterans are afflicted with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). However, many are finding hope through music. The Guitars 4 Vets program provides Veterans and others with a pathway to help cope with the challenges of PTSD.
- Student Veterans Organization (SVO) Spring Term Meeting. Wednesday, May 10, 1:30 to 2:30 pm. Connected with other Veterans and military-affiliated students, learn about MCC's SVO and various Student Veterans of America programs, scholarships, and leadership opportunities.

Getting Started
If you have questions or need assistance, the VMRC staff can walk you through the MCC application process. It is free to apply and completing an application does not obligate you to attend at MCC. To apply for admission go to Apply. NOTE: Students who have not attended MCC in the past two years will also need to complete an application. We can provide basic information about MCC academic programs and POC information.
Veterans Integration to Academic Leadership (VITAL) Program
MCC's Veterans & Military Resource Center (VMRC) is proud to announce the addition of Heather Bojanski as a member of its extended support staff. Heather works for the VA and serves as our Veterans Integration to Academic Leadership or VITAL Counselor.
The VITAL program is a collaborative effort between the school, the Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) and state and local agencies to ensure our student Veterans, military and family members get the tools they need to succeed. In addition to serving as a trusted counselor and advocate for students, other actions Kyle can help with include:
- Assistance with VA health care enrollment and information updates
- VA Vocational Rehabilitation—referral and coordination
- Coordination of VA health care services
- Veteran health care appointment scheduling
- Liaison with VA health care providers and VBA personnel
- Referrals to on-campus and state, county, and local services for Veterans
- Consultation and support regarding issues impacting academic performance and retention

Student Veterans Organization
MCC Student Veterans Organization (SVO) is a charter member of Student Veterans of America. The SVO is student-driven and provides opportunities to develop leadership and to network and support fellow Veterans in academic, community and social settings. Veterans and Service Members Graduation Recognition
In order to recognize its Veteran and military students, MCC is proud to present eligible graduates with a red, white and blue honor cord. Eligible students can pick up their honor cords when checking in for the graduation ceremony. In addition to the honor cord, students’ Veteran or military status will be recognized during the ceremony. If not attending the graduation ceremony, students can stop by the Veterans and Military Resource Center to obtain an honor cord.

Interested in being a Peer Mentor?
Are you interested in being a mentor for other Veteran, military or Vet/Mil connected students? Being a mentor can provide an opportunity to serve as a friend, leader and guide and help build a strong network of support and friends for a new student. A mentor’s involvement can be the linchpin that helps ensure a fellow student’s success in school, life and career. Contact the VMRC to learn more.
