MCC’s new Project Management Academy launches this fall
OMAHA, Neb. — Metropolitan Community College has announced the new Project Management Academy, an MCC Workforce Innovation Division initiative that will offer a diverse curriculum of project management principles beginning this fall. Students will learn best practices through group exercises, case studies and real-world simulation to prepare them for the Project Management Institute (PMI)®, Project Management Professional (PMP)® and Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)® exams, globally-recognized industry certifications.
Students in the academy can complete courses at their own pace, giving working professionals flexibility in the manner in which they complete the program. Classes will be available during the day or evening at MCC’s Center for Advanced and Emerging Technology on the Fort Omaha Campus. Classes will also be available online. Upon successful completion, students will achieve the MCC Project Management Academy certificate.
“The MCC Project Management Academy is a comprehensive education program suitable for professionals of all experience levels who are looking to further their career. Students will learn to think ahead and be flexible in a fast-paced environment by working as a team to complete projects,” said Robert Caldwell, workforce training manager at MCC. “With a PMP certification, individuals will be exceptionally skilled in project management and will be better prepared to work in many different industries, making them well-rounded professionals.”
In total, there are 7 academy courses, with an additional PMP and CAPM exam preparation class that are optional. For more information or to apply for the academy, visit mccneb.edu/wid or firstname.lastname@example.org. The application deadline is Aug. 10. GAP funding is available for those who qualify.
